It looks Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and his party ministers cannot resist from making comments on transfer of power. On Tuesday it was the turn of Housing Minister D T Jayakumar.
The minister reiterated that Mr Kumaraswamy will continue to be the Chief Minister even after October 3 -- the day when the power is scheduled to be transferred to the coalition partner BJP.
“Mr Kumaraswamy has given the good administration in the last 19 months. Not only all legislators of the JD (S), but people of State want him to continue as the Chief Minister,” he told reporters on the sidelines of swearing-in ceremony of the new Governor at Raj Bhavan in Bangalore.
He further said that all JD (S) legislators will soon hold a meeting and discuss ways to ensure that Mr Kumaraswamy remains as the CM.
Mr Kumaraswamy said that time will decide about the power transfer and one should wait till October 3. “Time will decide everything. Wait till October 3,” he stated.
Asked about the BJP and the Congress statement that they are ready to face elections, he said that both are national parties and that they will always be ready for polls, while the JD (S) is a regional party and it will have some fears about it.
