Dharwad Police on Tuesday continued their search operation in Dharwad prison following recovery of seven cartridges, eight mobile phones and Rs 50,000 cash from the inmates on Monday. However, the search did not yield anything except Rs 250 cash from an inmate.
A team, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) D Prakash and Assistant Commissioner of Police Ashok Kukanur, accompanied by metal detectors and bomb disposal squad members thoroughly checked the premises and inmates for over three hours.
The team also conducted a surprise raid on Hubli Prison and nothing was found from inmates.
It also examined the quality of food being served to inmates.
