The Rotary Lakeside Pulmonary Function Testing Unit for traffic and non-traffic police was inaugurated at Lakeside Medical Centre and Hospital (LMCH) on Wednesday.
The Unit will collect data on medical history and lung function of police personnel after examination. Regular screening tests will be conducted. During the two year programme data will be analysed periodically and provided to the authorities (Commissioner of Police) and to the Government of GOI with suggested remedial and preventive measures.
This data will be compared to similar study conducted 10 years ago at LMCH by Dr Paramesh in 1994-1997.
The centre will function on working days between 2 pm and 4 pm, screening will be free.
