A bicycle rider was killed in a lorry-bicycle collision at Muvathu Mudi near Hemmadi on NH 17 in Kundapur on Wednesday.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Govinda Poojary (50), a resident of Bagwadi in Aaloor Thoplu. The mishap occurred when the lorry was bound from Baindoor.
In a separate mishap, a certain Bharathi (20) was killed when a lorry knocked her down at Valavoor in NH 48 near Uppinangady on Wednesday.
The mishap occurred when she was walking on the roadside, when a speedy lorry knocked her down. The lorry driver has fled the spot.
