Rajiv Gandhi was a great leader

 The 63rd birth anniversary of former prime minister late Rajiv Gandhi was organised by Dr G Parameshwar Yuva Vedike in Varaha Layout in Upparahalli in Tumkur City, recently.
M V Raghavendraswamy, who presided over the function, said, Rajiv Gandhi became the youngest prime minister of our country and had contributed commendable services in the field of communication. His achievements are an inspiration to the entire world, he recalled.
Youth power
Rajiv Gandhi had put in a lot of efforts to tap the youth resources and gave a lot of importance to youth power. His thoughts and ideals are relevant even today. He was one of the greatest leaders who gave a lot of prominence to youths, he expressed.  
Mr Raghavendraswamy said, Rajiv Gandhi was not a great leader to the Congress party, but he was also a great national leader. His services, contributions, sacrifice and ideals should be remembered for ever, he added.
Inaugurating the event, District President of the Dalit Pragatipara Sanghatanegala Okkuta C Bhanuprakash said, in order to eradicate poverty in the country, it was necessary to give stress on education. The present system of education should be improved and education should be made compulsory to one and all. And education should also promise employment in return.
President of Chalawadi Sangha B Shantharaju explained about the various development works required to be undertaken in the layout. Gopi, Venkatesh, Sampath Kumar, Prashant, Rajanna, Maruthi, Vijay Prakash and several important personalities were present on the occasion. Sudha welcomed and Yellamma proposed a vote of thanks.
