Several students of the Government Primary and High School of Hosuru village in Sira taluk, took part in the hobli-level high school students sports meet, which was held recently. They have won several prizes and have brought laurels to the school.
An amount of Rs 5,000 was also offered as cash prize towards encouraging the students, on behalf of the Gram Panchayat.
A programme was organised to felicitate the winners. Speaking on the occasion, Gram Panchayat President Narayanappa said, apart from academics, it was equally essential for the students to take active part in the extra-curricular activities, for their overall development.
This would help in developing their personality also, he advised.
Students work hard with determination and commitment and excel in their studies.
They should also earn a good name to their school by taking part in various activities.
The fact that several students had won prizes in the hobli-level sports meet, is in itself a matter of great pride to the school and the village, the president added.
