Sir,
How much more distasteful can it get? Our MPs have mastered the art of not only reducing the serious to the ridiculous; they have also begun converting non-issues into issues, for a few minutes of fame.
Aren't they duty bound to verify and wait for the truth before they go on the air? And even after the ambassador clarifies his statement which is so evident in itself that it was aimed at the media, they continue to 'flame'.
Since a control of the media (though that would be a good idea!) is inconceivable , a blanket ban, on TV appearances and public sound bytes for Parliamentarians, worked into their conduct rules like the muzzle on civil servants maybe a good idea after all.
We will then not only be spared their un-informed inanities they will perforce be forced to go back to doing what they were elected for and not try and become shrill media-TV stars.
