As expected BCCI has sacked Kapil Dev from the chief's post of National Cricket Academy and this move by BCCI is absolutely justified as no person can work for a rival competitor being in the payroll of the current organization.
This is a universal rule which has to be adhered to at any cost. It would have been very good if Kapil Dev with all humility had resigned from BCCI and then joined the Zee baron Subhash Chandra owned Indian Cricket League (ICL). This would have befitted Kapil Dev as a icon rather than getting booted out by BCCI.
But, does BCCI - a private body registered under Indian Societies act run by dirty Indian politicians as their own fiefdom - have the necessary stature and standing amongst the public to sack a demi-god of Indian cricket Kapil Dev? No, they don't.
Kapil Dev is absolutely right when he says BCCI could have talked to him before pronouncing the marching orders considering the fact that Kapil Dev has devoted his entire playing life for the joy of millions of Indians thereby enhancing the prestige of Indian nation in the world.
Kapil Dev along with Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar have been the most great servants for Indian cricket and they need to be treated with great respect at all costs as they are indeed the rare jewels in the sporting horizons of India.
