Alert public caught a teenager and his associate when they tried to flee after snatching a cash bag containing Rs 60,000 on Jalahalli Main Road on Thursday morning.
Arun, a retired BEL employee is the lucky person who got his money back in no time after withdrawing cash from Jalahalli SBI branch. The two have been identified as Krishna (19) and Solomon (30), hailing from Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Gopi, another associate managed to escape.
Rs 2.89 lakh stolen
Miscreants forcibly broke open the rear door of a LPG gas distribution outlet in Basaveshwaranagar and decamped with Rs 2.89 lakh cash in the wee hours of Thursday. Owner Ramesh Kumar has lodged a complaint. Insiders hand is not ruled out, said an officer.
Dowry harassment
Basaveshwaranagar police are searching for an arecanut distributor after his wife registered a dowry harassment case on Thursday. Lata, wife of Sudhakar has complained that her husband and brother-in-law were harassing her for more dowry, despite giving around Rs 2.5 lakh worth cash and gold jewellery. Meanwhile, Sudhakar Shetty and his brother Narayan Shetty are absconding, police said.
Habitual thief caught
Bharathinagar police have arrested Imtiaz alias Shahrukh Khan (31), for breaking into houses and stealing valuables and recovered gold and fake silver articles worth Rs 3.5 lakh. Imtiaz is a habitual thief. He was arrested while standing in front of a jewellery shop in a suspicious manner.
Man stabbed
A man stabbed his friend to death on Magadi road. Gurusidda stabbed Veerabhadra (24) after fighting over an old issue, on Magadi Road. He was admitted to a hospital but succumbed. A case has been registered at K P Agrahara police station. Gurusidda has been remanded to judicial custody.
Fake DVDs seized
CCB police arrested Raju alias Ramadas (21) , for selling 600 fake VCD, DVD and MP3s worth Rs 1.85 lakh from Babason Video in SJ park station limits. Shop owner Kamalesh is absconding.
