In the crisis ridden UPA government at the center the only thing that tethers the alliance partners is their love for power.
The alliance parties of the UPA and the leftist parties that supply adrenalin to sustain the government have landed in direct confrontation with each other over the US "Civil Nuclear" agreement.
India's ambassador to United States, Mr. Ronen Sen's ingenuous and wayward utterance of "Headless Chicken" story further aggravated the leftists, NDA and the newly formed UNPA further pushing the Congress on the defensive.
At this critical juncture alliance parties will show their unity more than ever before for the simple reason that enjoying power after the election is not a certainty.
The leftists, who can always be the back seat drivers and never promote themselves as ruling party at the Centre are also not sure of getting the required number of seats in the Lok Sabha in the next election.
So they will content themselves as barking dogs never trying to bite. Perhaps Ronen Sen attributed his "Headless Chicken" comment to the leftists who are not serious in whatever they pretend to do.
