Tata Consultancy Services organised an inter-school IT quiz competition called 'TCS IT Wiz' at Jnanajyothi auditorium on Saturday.

To enhance IT awareness among students and keep them abreast with its latest developments, Tata Consultancy Services organised an inter-school IT quiz competition called ‘TCS IT Wiz’ at Jnanajyothi auditorium on Saturday.

Close to 1,200 students from over 100 schools participated in this year’s Bangalore edition of the competition, which was open to students from class VIII to XII. After some intense quizzing and keen contest four students all from class XI were adjudged winners.

Sachin R and Badrinarayan from National Public School, Indiranagar walked away with the winners trophy and a laptop each, closely followed by Rohit Prasanna and Thomas C A of Bishop Cotton Boys school as runners-up, who received a trophy along with an ipod nano each.

Speaking on the occasion Dr R Natarajan, Chairman of Board of IT Education Standards said: " The performance of the students was outstanding. Bangalore is known as the Silicon Valley of India and the students of this city have lived up to this reputation ".

National Public school, Indiranagar, Bishop Cotton Boys School, St Joseph's Boys High school, National Public school, Rajajinagar, Delhi Public school and Bhagavan Mahaveer Jain college were the six teams who made it to the regional finals after the written preliminary round. All of them received attractive gifts for their efforts.

Similar quiz contests will take place at 11 cities across the country reaching out to more than 12,000 students.
