Union Minister of State for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways K H Muniappa has assured to release Rs 5 crore for the immediate repair of National Highway in Shiradi Ghat stretch, said District-in-Charge Minister B Nagaraj Shetty.
Addressing presspersons here on Sunday, he said the potholes on NH between Gundya-Sakleshpura will be filled.
The Minister has also assured to release Rs 25 crore for the maintenance of NH 17 and NH 48. Two contracts worth Rs 32 crore have been signed for the concretisation and asphalting of Shiradi road.
CM’s programme
Mr Shetty informed that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will lay foundation stone for five sub-stations (33 kv) in Mangalore City Corporation limits on Monday.
He will also lay foundation stone for the Mini Vidhan Soudha at taluk panchayat office premises and inaugurate 2 First Grade College in Mangalore.
A 110 kv sub-station at Gurpura-Kaikamba, first grade College at Siddakatte, a Polytechnic College at Bantwal, a dam across Gurpura river and many other developmental works will be inaugurated by CM in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister and PWD minister H D Revanna.
He said we will also submit a memorandum on ‘Paschima Vahini Yojane’ and ‘Sowbhagya Sanjeevini Yojane’ to the CM.
M’lore-B’lore train
Mr Shetty also informed that Union Railway Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav has assured to flag off Mangalore-Bangalore train service in the last week of September. MLA Yogish Bhat, District BJP President Monappa Bhandary among others were present.
