"In a seven-match series, and if it is 1-1, then it is better to think it as a five-match series. So the mood has been good in the dressing room, the confidence is up, we have been batting and bowling well, we are just trying to improve our fielding a bit," Dhoni said.
"It is not that we are doing badly, it is like we struggle a bit in the big ground. But it won't come to us in as series or in a day. We don't have the throws of big guys like Flintoff and Symonds. We are not the guys who are reckoned for our big and flat throws. We are looking at attacking the ball and giving less time for the batsmen," he added.
But Dhoni said India too have the advantage as England batsmen might struggle against the visitors' spinners.
"We also have the advantage as it is tough to clear the field against our spinners. But definitely our fielding suffers from the throwing point of view. It is not that our guys are not fast, guys like Robin, Kaarthick, Yuvraj and Ajit are really fast ones. Definitely we don't have the kind of strong arm as some of the other guys," he said.
Dhoni said, however, the fielding standards have been improving. "We don't have good grounds, that is the problem. We don't know exactly how to dive. When I was a kid I never used to dive. I never had a good outfield over there.”
On the possible absence of Andrew Flintoff, he said, "He is the kind of player who always has an impact on the game and if he is not playing, England might be on the backfoot."
Dhoni said he has enjoyed batting against Flintoff. "It is always lively, he is a great competitor. It always feels great when you are in competition and you want to prove something. The best part is that it is not verbal, it is more via expression. He did not say anything to me, and I did not say anything to him, but there was a big competition going on."
