Mangalore’s Sharan Rao won the boys’ title while Tulsi retained the girls’ title in the State under-7 chess championship at the State Youth Centre here on Sunday.
Sharan, Ankith Mahesh and Ashwin J all had five points but on progressive scores, Sharan pipped the other two. Ankith finished second and he, along with Sharan, will represent Karnataka at the National under-7 chess championship at Lucknow.
Mysore’s Tulsi tallied six points to emerge undisputed winner. Nehal Byali of Bangalore finished one spot behind her to grab the second spot.
