Outward Bound, a symposium organised by Essen Communications showcased a range of activities on adventure sports, offbeat, nature and wildlife related activities on Sunday.
Nature enthusiast Ameen Ahmed highlighted birdwatching, trekking and wildlife tourism in lesser known destinations in Karnataka. He said the Maidanahalli Blackbuck sanctuary, Jayamangalli Blackbuck sanctuary is one of the best places to photograph blackbucks in South India.
Peafowls, sloth bears
Peafowls and sloth bears can be spotted in Madhugiri State forest. He highlighted various charms of the dryland-the central hill ranges and the Closepet Hill range.
Various offbeat activities were highlighted by the CEO, Woody Adventures, Madhusudan Shukla.
Fort exploration where one can experience history by camping at old fort and their ruins, cave explorations, rock climbing with rope ladders, night treks, cross country cycling with a romantic twist-for couples, treasure hunts on tongas using 1799 maps used by the British, exploring mines were some of the activities he presented.
King Cobra
Conservation Officer at Agumbe Rainforest Research Station (ARRS) Gowri Shankar spoke about the homeland of King Cobra which also called the Cherrapunji of the South.
He highlighted various activities of ARRS such as rescuing King Cobras, taking hatchings back to the wild, field trips to track snakes with the Irula tribes, setting drift fence and pitfall traps.

Visitors can be a part of the team which undertake these activities, he said.
