Ex-councillor gets extortion threat
DH News Service, Bangalore:

Former councillor K S Samiulla has lodged a complaint with Adugodi police following a call reportedly from underworld don Ravi Pujari demanding Rs 10 crore.

Samiulla received a call 10 days ago and the caller introduced himself as Ravi Pujari. He sought Rs 10 crore from Samiulla and before he could reply, the caller hung up. Samiulla did not file any complaint immediately and approached the police five days later. The call originated from Canada, police said.

Samiulla’s family members told Deccan Herald they were not aware of any such call. Samiulla was not reachable on his cellphone.

It may be recalled two employees of Shabnam Developers, a real estate firm owned by Samiulla, were gunned down in Jayanagar 9th Block on February 15. Samiulla had left the office half an hour before the attack.

It was believed the assassins were contract killers hired by Pujari, who wanted to eliminate Samiulla as he suspected Samiulla had links with Dawood Ibrahim.

Stella and her father, John, an employee of a private firm, was unaware of the ‘romantic development’.

Last week, when Stella and John were away from home, Jeevan met Mercy at her house and asked her to run away with him. When John returned home, he was shocked to see Mercy missing and lodged a police complaint.
