The villagers of Kora staged a protest against the denial of membership by Kora Agriculture Service Co-operative bank to the Dalits, Backward, Minorities and tribal communities under the limits of the bank at Kora hobli. The protesters laid a siege to the office of the Deputy Commissioner.
The protesters complained that the financial aid from the government is not available due to the unfair attitude of the bank authorities, which has badly effected on the lives of farmers.
Added to that, ration food have also failed to reach the public who come under the limits of the bank, they complained.
They also said that the bank has been cheating the people by sanctioning loans in benami names. The protesters declaimed that the district authorities should take suitable action against the bank and provide them justice.
