A resident of the City M Chinnappa has accused that the Chikkaballapur police have become a terror for the poor while favouring the rich.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, he directlyccused them saying that in spite of a stay order, the police gave protection while a poriton of his house was demolished. A case is going on in the court regarding the distribution of ancestral property.

The house in which he is living is also included in this dispute. The court had given an order to maintain status quo. Meanwhile, the defence brought the police and in his presence only demolished a major portion of the house. The roof has been ripped apart. In spite of showing the stay order, they did not care for it, he alleged.

The opponents are threatening his wife and children. Though this was brought to the notice of the DySP and the inspector they were not ready to register a complaint, he said.A complaint has however been filed with the SP. But till now nothing has come out of it.

The police who ask people to respect the law are themselves becoming law breakers. They have failed to give him protection, he charged.

Fed up with the attitude of the police, his family members and he had decided to stage a dharna in front of the police station, said Chinnappa.
