350 lakes to be de-silted

Legislator B P Venkatmuniappa announced that the 350 lakes in the taluk would be de-silted for the convenience of its residents.

He was speaking after the ground breaking pooja for the shops that will be  constructed on the vacant site of the Yelemallappa Shetty Rajabahadur Chatra.

Rs1.6 crore has been  sanctioned for the de-silting  project and the work would begin immediately after he came back from China  tour, he said.

The MLA also announced that two primary schools will be  opened in Badamakahalli and Hulibele and a PU college will be opened in Sundarpalya.

The construction of shops on the vacant  sites of the Yelemallappa Shetty Rajabahadur Chatra will be  complete in  two phases. The first  phase will have 14  new structures at an  estimated  cost of Rs 16.50 lakh and 14 more structures will come up in the land after the first phase is completed. Tahasildhar Nagaraj and  chairman of the chatra B N  Rajashekar also spoke on the occasion.

TP CEO Dr  Venkatswamy, Ramakrishnappa, petty traders association chairman Mageri Nagaraj, Srinivas, Subramani, Somshekar, Hosarayappa, Malleshgowda, Manjunath, and others participated in the  pooja.
