CM lays foundation for mini Vidhana Soudha

Chief Minister laid foundation stone for the mini Vidhana Soudha at the Taluk Panchayat premises in Mangalore on Monday.

The mini Vidhana Soudha will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 600 lakh. The mini Vidhana Soudha will come up in 3,712 sq feet. The basement of the building will have parking facility, strong room, election section, records and store room. Ground flood will have taluk office, sub registrar’s office, meeting hall, court hall, records and computer room.

First floor of the mini Vidhana Soudha will include ADLR and other offices. It has been decided to construct the basement and the first floor with the available fund of Rs 200 lakh. Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa inaugurated SGSY marketing stalls.

Mini chess park

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa inaugurated the ‘mini chess park’ at Tagore Park on Light House Hill by symbolically making the movements in the chess board.

District administration in association with Chess Association Dakshina Kannada and Derik’s Chess School has decided to popularise the game by setting up a mini chess park in the Tagore Park. As per the vision of Deputy Commissioner, concrete chess boards will be constructed for the public to play chess. Also there will be weekend training sessions by Derik’s Chess School exclusively for the public.

The ‘Mini Chess Park’ will be first of its kind in India. District-in-Charge Minister B Nagaraj Shetty, MLAs. Taluk Panchayat President Ranganath Shetty, Zilla Panchayat President Sushma Janardhan, DC, SP among others were present.
