Malayalis in the taluk celebrated Onam festival with enthusiasm and zest on Monday. Pleasure of the celebrations was spread across Kushalnagar, Suntikoppa, 7th Hosakote, Rangasamudra and other places.

Women and kids designed ‘pookkalam’ in front of their houses by using different kinds of flowers, the main attraction of the Onam festival.

Lighting lamps on ‘pookkalam’, they observed unique religious rituals. New colourful dresses added to their pleasure. Later they consumed various kinds of special eatables, inviting neighbours to their home. It was momentous to see all those dishes in a single glance- Unneeppam, Eliseri, Puliseri, Avin, Olen, Upperi, Kalen- more than 20 in all. Kerala Samajam will celebrate the Onam in Hotel Kannika International in Kushalnagar on September 16.
