The administration has beefed up security in the world famous temple town of Tirumala Hills, the abode of Lord Venkateshwara, in the wake of the twin blasts which claimed more than 40 innocent lives at Hyderabad on Saturday. The temple is under a thick security blanket.
In the wake of the high alert declared by the state government, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) which administers the temple of Lord Venkateshwara, has tightened security in the entire temple town of Tirumala Hills. Security has also been tightened on both ghat roads leading to Tirumala and Tirupati.
A large number of armed policemen have been deployed in the entire temple town of Tirumala Hills. The TTD’s vigilance wing has also deputed its staff in all vulnerable places in and around the temple. The temple management has further strengthened security at all the cottages and guest houses and bus stations at Tirupati and Tirumala.
All the vehicles from Tirupati to Tirumala are meticulously checked by the vigilance and police officials at Tirupati near Alipiri. Alipiri is the entry point from Tirupati to Tirumala through the second ghat road.
A special protection force, along with TTD’s Vigilance personnel and state police teams, have been put on high alert. Every passenger proceeding to Tirumala is being thoroughly checked. The special bomb detection squad was also pressed into service in both the ghat roads of Tirumala and Tirupati.
