Prakash Minch, former CPM legislator of Kharibari in Cooch Behar district of North Bengal and his companion were detained by the Railway police after the legislator tried to molest the wife of an army lieutenant colonel in an inebriated state aboard the Darjeeling Mail.
State Civil Defence Minister Srikumar Mukherjee who was travelling along with the army officer  and his family in the airconditioned coach, was accosted by the drunken legislator.
Reports quoting Maldah  Superintendent of Police D K Mandal said the former MLA who was travelling in the same coach began making indecent advances towards the lieutenant colonel’s wife.
Lt Col Pankaj Devgan initially did not resist Minch, as he kept on shouting about his ‘connections’ in the powers  that be. He finally lost his cool when the inebriated legislator caught hold of the lady and began to drag her. The ex MLA and his companion were produced in the court on Monday.
