The City police have constituted two teams to probe the case involving alleged threat calls by underworld don Ravi Pujari demanding Rs 10 crore from Jayanagar MLA Ramalingareddy.
Extortion calls
A case of extortion was registered by police after a businessman on SJ Park approached them complaining he had received a call from an unidentified man demanding Rs 20 lakh.
The call is stated to have been originated from Bangkok. “Police suspect some of his friends might have called him for fun. The call could have been made from Bangalore. Moreover, the caller is closely watching the movement of the businessman.
Body found
The body of an unidentified man has been found near Naveen Terrace Apartments, Koramangala Ring Road. It has been kept in Bowring Hospital. Call 25717100/22942584 or control room on 22943003/ 22942222.
