Thirty teachers have been selected for the Best Teacher’s Award 2007-08. Instituted by the State government to reward excellence in the teaching profession, the awards will be given on September 5 at Gulbarga. Of the teachers selected for the award, 20 are primary schools teachers and the rest are high schools teachers.  The event will be held at Saint Joseph Convent School at Gulbarga on Teachers Day and the award will be given by the Commissioner of the Department of Public Instruction (DPI).
The awardees have been requested to report to the Deputy Director of the DPI at Gulbarga on September 4 at 11 am.
The primary school teachers selected for the award are
G M Devendrappa - Chikkamagalur; R S Umachagi and Jayaram - Bangalore; S Dasyanayaka - Davangere;  K Nagaraju- Tumkur; B Shailaja -Bangalore Rural; K Rajarama - Udupi; Sridhar Ullala - Mangalore; M Yashodamma - Chikkamagalur; K Shivakumarachari -Hassan; M Lakshmachari- Mysore; Yuvaraja Fakeerappa Badigera- Koppal; Bheemappa Myagalamani- Raichur; Ashok Sirur- Yadgiri; Bharathi- Gulbarga; Annapurna R Kanoj- Bailahogala; Shivappa Govind Nayak- Uttara Kannada; Fakeeresh Veerappa Shigli- Haveri; Nagappa Devindrappa- Rona Taluk and Subhas Baburao Munnoli- Belgaum. The high school teachers include G Seetharama Shetty Koradi- Udupi; A G Veeresh- Chikkamagalur; B A Balakrishna- Hassan; G K Jayaram- Shimoga; C Ramaiah- Bangalore; M K Beernoora- Yadgiri; Danibabu- Bidar; Vinayaka Rajanna Banda- Gadag; Virupaksha Basavannappa- Dharwad and Ravindranath Veerappa Demashetty- Belgaum.
