“Development is achieved by putting into optimum use the given less resources and when the progress achieved is tangibly felt by everyone,” said Corporation Bank General Manager H Mehboob Ali Khan.
Addressing the gathering at the inaugural programme of ‘Pragati-07,’ a symposium on innovation and entrepreneurship, Mr Khan said that to be successful in life, the core competency of the students must be developed and for this centres of learning must become knowledge factory, building on skills of the students along with leadership and entrepreneur skills.
He said that economy has opened up providing large scope for the students to build their career. In this scenario, the students must make optimum use of their knowledge and skills which can take them long way in their career.
He said that in future when the students become entrepreneurs, they must concentrate on discipline, adding value to customer and customer centric service. Quoting example of some of the biggest business entrepreneurs, he said that they have all agreed that their main focus is on how they can add value to customers demands.
St Aloysius Institute of Business Administration Director Fr Denzil Lobo presided over the programme and spoke about Peter Drucker, the Management Guru who was the greatest of Management thinkers.
Resource person of the seminar Prof Manuel Mendonca spoke ‘on Innovation & Invention’ and said that ethical leadership fosters innovation and unexamined life is not worth living.
“Excellence is not an act but an habit,” he said and mentioned that managing is helping one’s subordinates achieve the objectives and make that objective into firm objective.
Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry President (KCCI) Captain John Prasad Menezes and Achal Industries proprietor Giridhar Prabhu were the other resource persons on the occasion .
