Condemning the twin bomb blasts that rocked the city of Hyderabad, the Akihla Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishat (ABVP) took out a protest march in Chintamani in Monday.
During the large demonstration they also burnt an effigy of of terrorism at the Bangalore Circle. They then returned to the Tahsildhar’s office and urged the official to take strict action against those who spread terrorism and then submitted a memorandum to the Tahsildhar to be forwarded to the government.
The protesters charged that the terrorists from Pakistan who are suspected to be the master minds behind the bomb blasts in Lumbini Park and Gokul Chat House in Hyderabad are working through the length and breadth of the country to spread communal discord and fear among the public.
The protesters also charged that the Government’s soft stand on terrorism is the reason that these activities are successful in the first place.
“ POTA that was introduced by the NDA government is the only way to curb the menace of terrorism” they said.
They demanded that POTA be reintoduced and Afzal guru be awarded the death sentence. They also pressed for a quick investigation to find the guilty of the Hyderabad bomb blasts. The BJP Youth wing and asked the UPA government take a tougher stand against activities of terrorism.
