Villagers throw light on power problem
DH News Service, Tumkur:

Villagers of the Belagumba village near here have drawn light to the electricity problem faced by these people that has exceeded unbearable  limits.

The infrequent and  long long power cuts is effecting the lives of these people adversely and the worst hit are the farmers whose livelihood is taking a beating because of the cuts, said the residents in a release.

The annoyed villagers charged that despite good rains and a surplus of  water in the major  reservoirs across the  state, their village  still does not get adequate power supply . The area gets an average of about 10-12 hours of power supply in a day and this is creating a major inconvenience for the people here.

“ The BESCOM officials should pay attention to our problems and take the  necessary  steps immediately to solve them,”  added the  villagers.

Sericulture Minister Sogadu Shivanna and the authorities concerned  were requested by the people to look into the  matter, said the release.
