There appears to be no “foul play” in the death of a 60-year-old businessman from Bangalore, whose body was found in a room at the elite National Sport Club of India (NSCI) here, police said on Monday.
“There appears to be no foul play,” the police official investigating the case told Deccan Herald.
The Bangalore-based businessman, V I K Sood, who was on his way to Mata Vaishnodevi shrine in Jammu, was found dead in a room at the NSCI on Sunday morning, police said.
He was found lying unconscious by the NSCI staff after a driver, who came to take him to Mata Vaishnodevi shrine, informed that he was not responding.
The police were informed and the staff opened the door using a duplicate key and found Sood lying unconscious on bed, police sources said.
He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Report awaited
“The postmortem is over and a full report is awaited. But there seems to be no foul play,” the official said. “Family members said he was suffering from high BP. Medicines for BP had been found near his body,” he added.
The body has been handed over to Sood’s son and son-in-law.
