Interactive theatre workshop
Logos Theatre is organising 'Selves, Masks, Performance', an interactive, exploratory workshop, from September 8. The programme looks at the concept of the self, or the many selves that we slip into in performance and in everyday life, and tries to deal with concepts of 'role', the wearing and uncovering of ' masks', and the question, 'what is the essential me?'. It also examines the meaning of 'performance', 'doing', 'act', and 'action'. Facilitated through exercises and activities drawn from various performing traditions - Western, Indian, and Japanese and freely expressive movement, the workshop is intensely physical in nature, and tries to explore and examine emotional and psychological states through actions of the body.
Adventure programme
The Wanderers, the outdoor adventure club, is organising a one day river rafting programme to Bheemeshwari on September 2. The rafting trip is spread over 8 km of the scenic Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary as the river Cauvery meanders through splendid forests. The programme also includes a short 3 km trek through the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary where the surrounding mountains and lush greenery provide a heady whiff of nature for trekkers. Those interested may contact The Wanderers before August 30. Call: 9845577216
