Avinashilingam University For Women, Coimbatore is conferring the degree of Doctor of Literature (Honoris Causa) on the noted industrialist and educationist M K Panduranga Setty, in recognition of his contribution in diverse fields of Education, Social Service, Research and Industry at their 19th Convocation on September 1, 2007. 

He heads many institutions like ASCENT, Asian Centre for Entrepreneurial Initiatives, Rashtriya Shikshana Samiti Trust (RV group of institutions) and he is the Past Rotary International Director. 

Degree of Doctor of Literature (Honoris Causa) will be conferred on the distinguished educationist and Chairman of University Grants Commission Dr Sukhadeo Thorat who will deliver the convocation address.
