They might be weary, they might be old,
They might have silver hair, but their hearts are of gold.
Caring, loving, patient and kind,
Weak are their bodies, young and playful are their minds.
Hugs, Kisses and Yummy snacks,
There are the things a Grand mom never lacks.
Playful, Grand dad is, and your partner in crime,
In slyly munching on Grand mom’s food divine.
They buy you oodles and oodles of toys,
They always believe you are their bundle of joy.
Pampering and playing with you all day,
Protecting you from your parents' rage,
They oblige your every need and request.
They guide us through the wrong and right,
They are pillars of strength and our source of light.
Happy and fun are our days,
When grandparents come to visit or stay.
We hear stories of their lives in the past,
Surely in their youth they have had a blast.
Through us they relive their youth and childhood,
And correct us when we are bad or rude.
Narrating to us mythical tales,
In entertaining us they never fail.
Traditions, respect and manners they teach,
And if we are at fault they do preach.
Their love for us is unconditional and great,
Their criticisms we should never dislike or hate.
I advise you to enjoy every moment, mate,
Before it becomes too late..............
