Addressing a press conference in Bangalore on Thursday, the commissioner said despite clear directions from the Karnataka High Court to complete delimitation process in 209 local bodies before July 30 the government could furnish final notification of delimitation for 165 bodies.  However, elections for Hosanagar Town Panchayat and Madikeri City Municipal Council could not be held due to technical reasons. While voters’ list was not finalised in Hosanagar TP, wards were not formed according to the Karnataka Municipal Council Act in Madikeri CMC, said Mr Hegde.
No election for BBMP
As many as 3593 wards in 27 CMCs, 76 TMCs and 60 TPs are going to polls on August 30.  However, none of the eight corporations, including Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagar Palike, are going for polls.
Mr Hegde said that the commission could not decide on holding election for the BBMP as the delimitation process was not completed.
Similarly final notification of other corporations had also not reached the commission.
