Tanjore paintings
The Tamil Nadu Handicraft Development Corporation, Poompuhar is conducting an exhibition-cum-sale of Tanjore paintings at its showroom located at 104/105, Brigade Rroad. In this exhibition a large number of Tanjore paintings having gold foiling work and kundan stone works will be on display  till August 8. The size of  paintings range from 12” x 10”  to 70” x 48” A special discount of 10 per cent will be allowed on Tanjore paintings.

Analysing your character
As part of Friendship Day, Handwriting Institute India has teamed up with Barista outlets across the City, where their students would be analysing handwriting of the customers there, all for free. The event would function in Barista outlets at Barton Centre, Kormangala, Jayanagar, and Indiranagar between 4 pm to 7 pm between August 3 and 5.

Theatre Lab initiative
The Theatre Lab is launching a poetry and music CD on August 5 at 11 am at Smriti-Nandan Cutural Centre 'Nanda-Deep', 15/3, Palace Road. The CD was recorded as part of its Arts Education and Outreach programme - a theatre workshop at Cottelengo Convent for Mentally Handicapped Girls. The one hour programme also comprises viewing of The Haunted House, a short film by the Theatre Lab Film Appreciation Workshop. “Theatre Lab began  in 1997 to give my daughter and her  friends a sense of literature through theatre. So I told them about Kalidasa, and Shakespeare and watched as the children started to love the play between words and movement”, says Kirtana Kumar, the founder.
