INTACH starts restoration work on Gangubais home
Dharwad, DHNS:

The Indian Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) has started restoration work on the ancestral house of noted Hindustani musician, Gangubai Hangal at Shukravarpet in Dharwad on Friday.
A team from the INTACH, led by Pankaj Modi, visited the house and took stock of the present state of the house. The renovation work was undertaken by the district administration at a cost of Rs 15 lakh and would be completed by October, this year. The work would be carried out under the supervision of the INTACH. The ancestral house would be renovated to turn it into a museum and a music school. Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa had announced the renovation of her ancestral house and preserving it as a museum and music school at a cost of Rs 15 lakhs.
