Announcing the same here on Saturday, PepsiCo India South Region Sales Vice President Sunil Kumar said the four persons voted as the Kurkure Chai-Time Achievers will appear on over a million Kurkure packs across India.
Giving details about the contest, Mr Kumar said the new initiative of PepsiCo encourages consumers to showcase their talent by creating various recipes with Kurkure and the reward for the winners will be an opportunity to get their photograph printed on 10 lakh Kurkure packs.
To take part in the contest all one has to do is send an innovative Kurkure recipe to teatime@kurkure.co.in or to the post box address given on the Kurkure packs or posting the recipe on the website www.kurkure.co.in. If the recipe gets selected, you could be on a million Kurkure packs, he said. Consumers have an option of ‘creating their families’ (not necessarily biological family) wherein 4 adults (above the age 12) can participate. However, the only condition is that Kurkure should be one of the main ingredients and the preparation should be quick.
The four winners — Sajan Salian (from Uppala), Yeshwanth Shetty (Moodbidre), Mohammed Sadiq (Uppala) and Prakash Shetty (Hosangadi), who were present in the press meet said that they were overjoyed. While Sajan and Yashwanth are students of MCA at Srinivas Institute, Sadiq and Prakash are students of MCA in Mangalore university. They said they were friends when they were pursuing their degree courses.
Speaking on the occasion, Yashwanth Shetty said that in one of their meetings they discussed about the contest casually and they decided to mail their recipe to the company. When they received a call from the PepsiCo at first they could not believe. However, when they confirmed, their were too happy, he said.
“Neither we, nor our parents believed when we told them that we were selected in the contest,” an elated Sadiq said.
The four from Mangalore are one among the 41 winners across India, Mr Kumar informed.
