National action plan to stop trafficking
Creating a database on trafficking of women and children and addressing culturally-sanctioned practices such as the 'Devdasi' system are part of a draft national integrated plan of action to fight the menace, PTI reports from New Delhi.
The plan of action was drafted at a two-day meeting organised by the Ministry of Women and Child Development and National Commission for Women. (NCW), involves setting up of a national database and web portal where details of convicted would be available.
GSI team studies object from sky
A three-member team of GSI reached here on Saturday to examine the mysterious object which had fallen from sky into a field in Hotipur village in the district, UNI reports from Sangrur. The team comprising GSI directors, Dr Baldev Singh, Dr Jagjeet Singh and GSI directors and senior analyst Dr R S Rana, examined the stone.
