“The responsibility of the lives of the people are in your hands. Hence perform your duties with care,” said District Principal and Sessions Judge Prakash Ballari addressing the bus drivers at the 46th foundation day of KSRTC on Wednesday organised by KSRTC Chikmagalur division and Labour Welfare department. Retired employees of KSRTC were felicitated on the ocassion.

He suggested the drivers to inculcate discipline in life and to stay from alcohol and urged the drivers not to make road accidents a regular event.

He said that the only satisfaction is that accidents are comparatively much lesser than the northern region.

“When money is spent on maintanance and repair works of the vehicles, let alone the bonus, the government will face problems to even pay the salary. Hence the drivers have an important role to play when it comes to reducing accidents,” he added.

Additional SP Praveen Madhukar said that the feeling that the buses are not the government property but it is our own property must be developed among the people. Only then a drastic change can be brought about.
