The life of people in Malnad has been disrupted owing to the heavy rains that lashed Mudigere taluk for the past one week. The rivers and streams are overflowing in taluk. Fields have been submerged under Hemavathy river. Farmers who have sown seeds are worried over the heavy rainfall.

Two buffaloes have been washed away in the water at Beejuvalli in the taluk. The vehicular movement between Belur-Mudigere has been disrupted owing to the submerge of Sundekerehalla bridge. The pump house at Daradahalli has also been washed away in the Hemavathy river.

In Narasimharajapura

Heavy rains continue to lash Narasimharajapura taluk from Saturday evening. The fields have been submerged. The backwater level has increased in the taluk owing to the increase in the level of water in Bhadra reservoir.
