Six arrested for dacoity
Shimoga, DHNSs: Police have arrested six culprits Shivaramachari, Shivakumar B N, Vijaykumar M N, Rajesh, Vijayalakshmi and Ambika, who looted four houses at Gubbiga-Tallurangadi near Agumbe on July 15.
Shivaramachari is a resident of Tallurangadi while the rest are from Bangalore. With this, suspicion regarding involvement of naxals in the act is cleared.

Shivakumar came into contact with Shivaramachari eight months ago when he had been to Agumbe. Later Shivakumar introduced his four other friends to Shivaramachari. Shivaramachari, who had rivalry with Nagesh and Umesh of Tallurangadi, provoked Shivakumar and four other accused, to take revenge.

They planned to rob  houses in the guise of naxals. After looting the houses of Nagesh, Rajesh, Satish and Shankarappa they left pamphlets in the name of naxals and also told  victims that the looted amount will be used to compensate the families of persons killed by the Police in encounter at Menasinahadya, thereby creating suspicion about involvement of naxals.
