Police have been asked to keep a strict watch on the naxal and terrorist activities, said SP Ramasubbu on Monday. He was speaking at the week-long training camp being held for traffic police at the Police officer’s Mess.
The district police have been asked to be on an alert, following a letter from the State Intelligence. Strict vigilance is in place especially in the border areas, he added. Police have also been trained to tackle attacks on police stations, he added.
Earlier inaugurating the camp, Inspector General of Police (Southern range) R P Sharma said that even though there were 102 police stations in the southern range, only three among them were traffic police stations. These stations are housed at Hassan, Mandya and Kodagu districts. There is a need to address this issue, he added.
Speaking about the camp, he said that it was being held to better traffic management.
