Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy called on Human Resources Development Minister Arjun Singh on Monday and reiterated the State’s demand that a Central University and an IIT be set up at Gulbarga and Hassan respectively.

The CM was understood to have told Mr Singh that the State would provide land to the two institutions. As regards to Central University, he said the issue was raised during the meeting that the Prime Minister attended in Bangalore last week.

The CM also called on  the FM and urged him to take up with the World Bank, a proposal for the sanction of loan to the proposed Rs 4500 crore KSHIP.
