Transfer of Power
Gowda likely to meet Rajnath
New Delhi, DH News Service:

In a bid to end the political uncertainty in Karnataka, BJP President Rajnath Singh is all set to meet JD (S) supremo H D Deve Gowda in a crucial one-to-one meeting later this month.

The top level meeting is expected to sort out the modalities of “transfer of power” in the State on October 3rd.

The two leaders were scheduled to meet on July 20 in the Capital but it was postponed later, they said.

The sources said the BJP high command “trusts” JD (S) to transfer power to the BJP with current Deputy-Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa taking over the charge from the incumbent Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on October 3.

They also ruled out any possibility of the BJP agreeing to any other candidate as chief minister in the State.

On the possibility of JD (S) springing a surprise on the BJP by joining hands with the Congress in the State, sources said: “Politics at some stage requires a level of trust”.
