Best score over Maruthi
Best School scored a 2-0 win over Maruthi Vidyalaya in the G S Randhawa Memorial inter-school hockey tournament at the KSHA Stadium in Bangalore on Monday. 

Sheik Md Nizam put Best ahead in the 14th minute before Deekshith Kiran scored the second in the 24th minute.
Dream A Dream drew with St Germain’s 1-1 in another match. After Hamsa Kumar shot Dream A Dream into lead with a first-minute goal, Sunny Joseph scored the equaliser in the 17th minute.

In another drawn match, KV DRDO held Sarala Birla Academy 1-all. DRDO took the lead in the 37th minute through Danish Kumar while Abhishek brought the parity in the 49th minute. Meanwhile, St. John’s High School got a walkover from Florence High School.

Ravi sparkles in Challengers win
Challengers ‘B’ scored a facile 57-run win over Jayanagar United Ccricket Club in the Giants Shriram Life Cricket Cup tournament in Bangalore over the weekend. Ravi scored 102 in his team’s total of 218 for two in 26 overs. In reply, JUCC were restricted to 161 for seven in 26 overs.

Brief scores: Whirlwind Cricketers: 106 all out in 25.1 overs (Tariqwali 29; Sudarshan 2-14, D Johnson 2-28, Girish Nadig 2-14) lt to Sporting Elements: 109/1 in 25 overs (Srinivas MK 48 n.o., Murari 36 n.o.).
Challengers ‘B’: 218/2 in 26 overs (Ravi H S 102, Harsha 83) bt Jayanagar United CC: 161/7 in 26 overs (George 45, Shaibal 34, Prasad 29 n.o.; Beerappa 3-29).

Shriram Life : 218/5 in 30 overs (Vijay Chauhan 118, Habib 29, Govindappa 38; Cheluvaraj 2-42) drew Vijaya CC: 35/1 in 8.5 overs (abandoned due to rain).

FAPS emerge triumphant
Frank Anthony Public School scored a crushing eight-wicket win over St Joseph’s India High School to clinch the Arokiaswamy Memorial inter-school cricket tournament title in Bangalore on Monday. After restricting SJIHS to a modest 127 for five in the 30-over final, FAPS, led by Shreyas Gopal’s fine 67, powered to 130 for two in 29.1 overs.

Arokiaswamy Memorial Final: SJIHS ‘A’: 127/5 in 30 overs (Abhishek Reddy 25, Rahul Anand 55 n.o.) lt to FAPS: 130/2 in 29.1 overs (Shreyas Gopal 67).

Centenary: SJIMS: 106/7 in 20 overs (Aditya 41; Shimon 2-12) bt FAPS: 104/6 in 20 overs (Samuel 35, Sairam 36; Cyril 2-18, Prashanth 2-14).

Katige stars in Synergy SC win
Rahul Katige scored a brace as Synergy Sports Club registered a 4-0 win over Dhyan Chand Hockey Club in the State ‘C’ Division Hockey League at the Karnataka State Hockey stadium in Bangalore on Monday. He scored in the 12th and 32nd minutes of play.

Nachappa (42nd) and Bopanna (53rd) netted the other two goals.

Earlier, Dhanraj Ballal Hockey Academy ‘B’ blanked Germanites 5-0. Saad Ahmed Khan (4th, 39th), Purushotham (22nd), Prasanna (32nd) and Pamba (45th) struck for the winning side.
