UNION MINISTERS MEET WITH DEVE GOWDA
District congress in dismay
DH News Service, Tumkur:
The present meet of Union Minister of State for Planning Commission M V Rajashekaran with former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda is said to have annoyed the members of the district congress.

Union Minister of State for Planning Commission M V Rajashekaran’s meet with former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda and his justification after the meet have filled the district Congress members with dismay. Speculations of the party joining hands with the JD(S) are rife after the meet.

Some of the district congress members are worried a lot about their future in the party and have supported former MP G S Basavaraju’s comment on the meet.

However, the leaders have expressed their discontentment over the issue in private to the media, though they overtly say that there has been no much significance to the meet.

No harmony
It was obvious that there was absence of harmonious relationship between the district congress members and JD (S) leaders even during the reign of previous JD (S) and Congress coalition government.

The  prominent party leaders such as G S Basavaraju, Congress spokesperson V S Ugrappa, Congress district President S P Muddahanume Gowda, Shadakshari and others were said to have no cordial relationship with the members of JD (S) then.

Annoyed
The present meet of the Union Minister is said to have annoyed the members of the district congress.

Previous quarrel
These members have been fretting about the previous quarrel between the two parties who had alleged that the district congress was also responsible for toppling the previous coalition government led by Dharam Singh.

‘No’  to JD(S)
A Congress party member says that they respect the decision of the high Command but also requests for not joining hands with JD(S). He also says that a faction of the party has similar opinion regarding the duo’s meet .
This was reflected in the absence of many of the Congress members during the Minister’s press meet in the city.

Absence
Also many of the leaders were absent during a meet which was supposed to discuss various development works. No major leaders were present during his meet to the city except  few.

Though the minister justified the less number of leaders, or a huge crowd or senior officials welcoming him, there were only those staff which were supposed to be present during a minister’s visit according to the protocol.
Leader of the another faction, speaking after the press meet, said that there has been dissatisfaction because of the duo’s meet and hence no important leaders have participated.
