The taluk panchayat executive officers should check the mismanagement that is rampant in the various departments of the taluk and take appropriate action to contain the same, demanded the taluk panchayat members, at the general meeting organised at the premises of the taluk panchayat office.
Bukkapattana taluk panchayat member Manjunath enlightened the members about the mismanagement in the various departments of the taluk along with facts and figures. On listening to this the members in unison demanded that situation should be corrected with immediate effect.
If the administrative reforms are not undertaken immediately then all the members of the taluk panchayat would protest, said JD(S) President B K Manjunath.
The secretaries in the taluk panchayats are not giving priority to the developmental works that can benefit the people at large. One can find rampant corruption in the ‘Gram Swaraj Scheme’ and other developmental works initiated by the government. Thus, stringent action should be taken to check this, urged the taluk panchayat members.
Moreover, the sub-committees are being created just as a token act. So far not even one meeting of the various sub-committees has been called for. Also, the various officers of the taluk panchayat seem to have forgotten their duties, as they have hardly inspected any hostels in the taluk since past one and a half year. Moreover, they have not even inspected the various developmental activities in the taluk, questioned the taluk panchayat members.
Approval was given to the implementation of the 2007-08 Taluk Panchayat Link Document Programme, preparation of the action plan for the works under the 12th Financial Plan at the meeting held under the aegis of the Taluk panchayat President K Kalappa.
