Srinath moves into top position

National champion Srinath Pobbathi shot into the lead in the men’s section after twelve games in the first round of the Allsec Technologies 19th National Tenpin Bowling Championship at the Star City Bowling Centre here on Monday. He scored 2424 and that gave him an average of 202.

Srinath had an excellent run in his first 12 games, which included eight double century scores after a couple of 192s on Monday, when the games were all played in long oil conditions.

In second place behind Srinath was his State-mate Jignesh, who garnered a score of 2294. His avarage stood at 191.167.

Another Karnataka bowler, Girish Gaba, was in third place after two days with a score of 2283 and an average of 190.25.

In fourth place is Delhi’s H V Sarda with a score of 2265.

Karnataka’s Ajay Singh led the field after six games on the first day of the championship which was played on long oil conditions. Ajay and others were scheduled to play their second six games in short oil conditions late on Tuesday.
