Embedded design challenge

Freescale Semiconductor is offering engineering students and embedded developers in India the opportunity to turn great designs into 8-bit innovations.

The embedded design contest, which begins August 1, challenges engineers to stretch their imagination and create innovative prototypes using Freescale’s 8-bit HCS08 8/16-pin microcontroller (MCU).

To compete in the design challenge, participants must submit their design prototypes complete with schematics and software developed with CodeWarrior™ tools, along with a working, board-level demonstration of the product by October 31, 2007.

The first-prize winner will receive a four-day all-expenses-paid trip to Malaysia that includes sight-seeing opportunities and a tour of Freescale’s manufacturing facilities in the region. The second-place winner will also have the opportunity to win an exciting prize.

The top 25 entries will have a chance to attend FTF Bangalore for a close-up look at the latest technology innovations that Freescale is bringing to market.

How to participate in the contest

To register and get a starter development kit, the eligible participant must send a cheque of Rs.1000, made out to Ammos Software Technologies Pvt. Ltd. along with the address and phone no. of the person to whom the kit needs to be couriered to: Ammos Software Technologies Pvt. Ltd., #125/1-18, T. *The participant will receive a starter kit with hardware and software development tools one week after registering

*The kit contains the DEMO9S08QG8 board, CodeWarriorTM Development Studio CD, USB Cable, Quick Start Guide, User Manual and Resource CD
