ISKCON to hold childrens fest
Mangalore, DHNS:

International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) will organise inter-school competitions for children as part of Sri Krishna Janmashtami Children’s Festival- 2007 at Sharada Vidyalaya, Kodialbail, on August 12, informed ISKCON (Mangalore) President Premabhakthi Das.

Speaking at a press meet organised on Wednesday, he said a rolling trophy has been introduced this time for the best school. ‘Shyama’ painting competition will be organised for group A, that is, students in class I and II and group B, that is, students studying in class III and IV, group C, that is, for class V to VII and group D, that is, for class VIII to X, separately.

Rangoli Art competition on ‘Krishna Leela,’ Ramayan and Bhagavath related themes will be organised for students in VII to X standard. Bhakti Geeta competitions in groups of three will be organised for students in class V to VII and from class VIII to X. Apart from this, Gita chanting competition on Chapter 12 of Bhagavad Gita will be organised for students from class VI to VIII and class IX to X at Jagannath Mandir, Bunts Hostel Road on August 15 while ‘Krishna Leele’ fancy dress competition will be organised for students in KG class to class I and class IV to V at A B Shetty Hall, Bunts Circle on September 4.

ISKCON will also celebrate Sri Krishna Janmashtami and Vyasa Pooja Celebrations at Sri Jagannath Mandir on September 4 and 5, respectively.

Programmes including cultural shows, bhajans, aarti, pravachan, competitions for children, dance programmes and drama will be held on the occasion.
