Nearly 15 Government Press employees who are on strike for more than a month demanding regularisation of their services have fallen ill. They have been admitted to the hospital.
Meanwhile, in a major development Sri Nanjavadoota Swami of Pattanayankanahalli met the striking employees and later held discussions with deputy commissioner S R Umashanker.
The staff have been staging a fast-unto-death in front of the DC office since the last three days. Kannada Sene, Karnataka Youth forum and several other organisations are supporting their cause.Sene’s Dhaniya Kumar, Rockline Ravikumar, youth forum’s Dr Ravikumar, K R Kumar and others also participated in the discussion with the DC.
Mr Umashanker assured that after scrutinising the documents action would be taken.
